I Thought Poem

I woke up this morning

And looked up at the sky.

I thanked God for another day

And for being by my side.

I thought of all my blessings.

The things God gives to me -

My family, my precious church

And material things I need.

I thought of all the happy times

He sends me from above.

All the many precious friends,

Who shower me with love.

I thought of all the many times

When my life gets rough.

When sadness, hurt, and sickness

Show me I'm not that tough.

I thought of how God takes my hand

And gives me awesome peace.

Reminding me He's in control.

He knows what's best for me.

I thought of how God lifts me up

Through Christians that I know.

Through their encouragement, love, and prayers

I know God loves me so.

I thought of God's great power,

How he shapes our lives.

Through good times and through bad times,

He will be our guide.

I thought about our time on earth.

It goes by so very fast.

But when we get to heaven,

The good times are going to last!
